Our client, a dynamic and innovative technology company in the lighting industry, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join their team. As an Area Sales Manager, your primary role will be to proactively win new business from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and contractors whilst maximising the client base within the South West UK region. In addition to OEMs and contractors, you will target key stakeholders such as specifiers, and local councils & authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to identify and target OEM customers, contractors, specifiers, and local councils & authorities, focusing on acquiring new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Leverage your industry knowledge and network to prospect, qualify, and close deals, expanding the client base and driving revenue growth.
  • Cultivate relationships with contractors, specifiers, and local councils & authorities, educating them about our client’s intelligent lighting control systems and influencing their decisions to incorporate these solutions into their projects.
  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations and persuasive presentations to showcase the value and benefits of our client’s offerings to each target audience.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, customer satisfaction, and successful account management.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to inform sales strategies and tactics, maximising opportunities for business development across the different routes to market.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in B2B sales, with a strong focus on acquiring new business from OEM customers, contractors, specifiers, or local councils & authorities. Experience in the lighting industry or related sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, with exceptional negotiation, closing, and deal-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling the establishment of influential relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the South West UK region to meet with customers and attend industry events.
