Roles/Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established specification sales territory across the North East, East Midlands and parts of East Anglia.
- Secure product specifications across refurbishment, retrofit, façade-remediation and new-build projects.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities throughout the region.
- Manage longstanding customer relationships while expanding the regional account base.
- Build relationships with architects, contractors, consultants, housing associations, local authorities and specialist installers.
- Deliver technical presentations and continuing professional development sessions.
- Develop opportunities from initial specification through to project completion.
- Support customers throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities within retrofit, decarbonisation, social housing and new-build markets.
- Work closely with internal technical, commercial and customer-support teams.
- Maintain an accurate regional pipeline and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Manage your own diary and travel independently throughout the territory.
- Represent Our Client professionally at customer meetings, project discussions and industry events.
Qualifications
- At least three years of specification sales experience within the construction industry.
- A proven background in field sales, account management and business development.
- Experience working with architects, contractors, consultants, specifiers or specialist installers.
- Demonstrated success in securing product specifications and developing project opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Confidence delivering technical presentations and engaging with a range of project stakeholders.
- The ability to manage a large geographical territory independently.
- Strong organisation, communication, negotiation and pipeline-management skills.
- A proactive, consultative and results-focused approach.
- Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be particularly relevant:
- External wall insulation.
- Render systems.
- Façade systems.
- Cladding.
- Building-envelope products.
- Insulation.
- Passive fire protection.
- Roofing systems.
- Waterproofing systems.
- Construction chemicals.
- Candidates from closely related technical construction-product sectors with strong specification sales experience are also encouraged to apply.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the territory.
Benefits
- Basic salary of £50,000–£55,000, negotiable depending on experience.
- Bonus scheme with realistic on-target earnings of more than £90,000.
