Project Specification Manager

My client, an award-winning manufacturer specializing in standard and bespoke cable management systems, is seeking an experienced Project Specification Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is a replacement position due to a team member’s retirement in July, with a flexible start date.

Location and Commute:

The Project Specification Manager must be based within a maximum 60-minute commute from the head office in SE London.

Responsibilities and Skills:

Follow health & safety guidelines diligently and ensure a safe environment for all.

Communicate transparently and professionally with customers.

Investigate quality issues and manage customer complaints effectively.

Build and nurture relationships across target customer segments and project sectors.

Provide technical support internally and externally.

Conduct sales visits and respond promptly to customer inquiries.

Prepare and send quotations within agreed timelines.

Prioritize and manage major projects, reporting progress to senior management.

Adhere strictly to company sales procedures.

Support marketing activities and contribute to marketing materials.

Identify reference projects and secure permissions for their use.

Assist in managing the existing product portfolio and contribute to new product development.

Preferred Experience:

Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Significant project management experience.

Minimum 3-5 years in a specification role, ideally within the electrical industry.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on building relationships.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; experience with Sage 200 Evolution is desirable.

Pay and Benefits:

Competitive salary.

25 days holiday plus public holidays, with additional days required for the inter Christmas & New Year period.

Monthly sales bonus of 10% of salary (based on achieving targets 10 months out of 12).

Quarterly profit-sharing bonus.

Standard Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM schedule with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.

Office parking space available if needed.
