About the Client

• Our Client is a specialist commercial flat roofing contractor delivering roofing refurbishment projects across the UK.
• The business works across a range of flat roofing and waterproofing systems, including single ply, liquid applied waterproofing, roofing membranes, insulation, and wider building envelope solutions.
• Continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced estimator to strengthen the commercial function.
• The role offers fully remote working, with the successful candidate ideally based in Southern UK.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Produce accurate quotations and detailed costings for commercial roofing projects.
• Review specifications, drawings, tender documents, and project requirements.
• Ensure all labour, material, subcontractor, plant, and associated project costs are accurately captured.
• Identify potential commercial risks and cost implications before submission.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive and accurate pricing.
• Work closely with the wider commercial team throughout the estimating process.
• Support the business in maintaining strong project margins and commercial performance.
• Manage multiple estimates and tender deadlines effectively.
• Resolve pricing, specification, and project queries as they arise.
• Use technology and digital tools to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ estimating experience.
• Previous experience within commercial flat roofing is essential.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems such as flat roofing, waterproofing, single ply, liquid applied systems, roofing membranes, insulation, or refurbishment projects.
• Proven experience producing quotations and detailed project costings.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
• Good commercial awareness with the ability to identify project risks.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Good IT skills and an interest in using technology and AI to improve working processes.
• Previous Quantity Surveying experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
