My client is a well-established, privately owned waste & environmental services business with a strong reputation across the UK. Due to continued growth and success within their southern operations, they are now looking to appoint a Field-based Business Development Sales Manager to drive expansion across the South & South West Midlands.

This is a high-impact, field-based role focused on developing new business opportunities while also growing existing accounts within the hazardous and industrial waste management sector

You will be joining a business with a strong team culture, long-standing workforce, and genuine investment in employee development, offering a platform to build a successful and rewarding career.

What you will be doing: 

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold calling and field-based activity
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing deals
  • Develop and grow existing client relationships, identifying upsell opportunities
  • Work closely with internal technical and operations teams to ensure compliant and efficient service delivery
  • Gather and input accurate waste characterisation data to support pricing and logistics
  • Identify and win Total Waste Management (TWM) opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
  • Coordinate customer visits and ensure a high-quality customer journey

The Ideal Candidate (What a super-star looks like for this role): 

  • Proven track record in hazardous waste or industrial services sales
  • Strong new business hunter mentality
  • Experience selling service-led solutions (not product-only)
  • Confident in cold calling and face-to-face client engagement
  • Ability to build long-term relationships and manage key accounts
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote/field-based role
  • Full clean UK driving licence
