Our client is a long-established global manufacturer known for high-performance fixing & fastening solutions used in wood construction, decking, new-build developments, facade and broader construction sectors. With a strong legacy of merchant and distributor-led sales, the company is now building a specification-driven UK sales team to boost national visibility and project involvement.
This is a newly created, national field-based role, reporting directly to both the Sales Director and National Sales Manager.
This position is ideal for someone who is technically strong, hungry, and highly capable of winning new business, particularly within specification and construction project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new business activity and open doors with project managers, specifiers, housebuilders, developers, and architects.
- Promote the company as a technical fixing solution provider, not just a product supplier.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the construction ecosystem.
- Deliver technical expertise around fastening solutions and correct application.
- Increase brand visibility across new-build, residential, commercial, and public-sector sectors.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to execute the long-term specification strategy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong technical understanding of construction products or fixing solutions.
- Proven track record in specification sales or delivering solutions to architects, engineers, developers, or main contractors.
- A hunter mentality, comfortable with boots-on-the-ground activity, pipeline creation, and proactive outreach.
- Experience working for a manufacturer (preferred).
- Established industry contacts within the construction, fixings, woodworking, or building products sectors.
First 6–12 Months Objectives
- Fully embed yourself within the business and understand the technical nature of the product range.
- Position the company as a recognised fixing solution within your network and territory.
- Begin building traction within specification markets, understanding that this is a longer sales cycle and requires strategic persistence.
- Increase market awareness and drive exposure beyond the traditional distributor base.
