About the Client
Our client is a well-established investment firm with 28 branches across the North of England and a team of over 330 professionals. They are open to strategic hires who can bring discretionary, actively managed portfolios and who have demonstrated the ability to transition and retain client books effectively.
Roles/Responsibilities
Manage and grow a discretionary investment portfolio with a focus on high-performance delivery.
Transition and retain a personal client book, ideally within 3–6 months of joining.
Construct and manage tailored portfolios including trusts, stock picks, and model portfolios.
Deliver exceptional client service and consistent portfolio performance.
Ensure full regulatory and ethical standards are met when transferring clients.
Collaborate with internal teams to protect and consolidate client assets.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Investment or Portfolio Manager.
Ability to bring £100m+ AUM.
Experience with discretionary and actively managed portfolios.
Strong understanding of transfer fees, client exit strategies, and portfolio migration.
Clear RFL (Reason for Leaving) and RFJ (Reason for Joining), with ability to articulate value proposition to transitioning clients.
Strong retention history with previous client books (with realistic expectations on asset transfer percentages).
Located in or willing to relocate to the Midlands.
Benefits
Base salary of £75,000–£100,000.
Commission structure at 30%.
