Role: Internal Account Manager – Stafford
Department: Fit Out Sales
Reporting to: Head of Fit Out Sales
About the Opportunity:
This is a pivotal position acting as the central internal point of contact for Tier 1 construction customers and the External Account Manager. You will support the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to order completion, helping the team achieve ambitious growth targets while delivering exceptional customer service.
You’ll also spend one day per week on customer site visits alongside the External Account Manager to build product knowledge, relationships, and commercial understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Handle and qualify incoming enquiries via phone, email, and website
- Conduct discovery calls via Teams or Zoom
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable solutions
- Prepare, present, and follow up quotations
- Create upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
- Support the External Account Manager with administrative and sales tasks
- Maintain accurate CRM records
- Coordinate handover to Operations for successful projects
- Provide timely responses to customer queries
- Conduct post-project follow-ups to uncover new opportunities
- Deliver an outstanding end-to-end customer experience
What we are looking for:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong relationship-building ability and commercial awareness
- Understanding of sales cycles, drivers, and negotiation techniques
- Results-driven with a passion for sales
- Detail-oriented with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Confident with IT systems and CRM platforms
- Proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Skilled at asking intelligent, strategic questions
- Professional telephone manner and closing ability
Experience:
- Previous sales experience is advantageous (internal sales experience preferred)
- Experience working with construction or fit-out customers is a plus
What’s in it for you:
