This is an exciting retained opportunity to shape and lead the UK & European marketing function for a global technology business with a long-standing heritage in energy management and smart metering. You will join a values-driven company that is passionate about engineering solutions for a more sustainable world.
Job Purpose:
To ensure the company’s marketing activities enhance its reputation in the UK and European marketplace—enabling stronger commercial performance in the short, medium, and long term. You will act as the bridge between regional business strategy and the global communications function, ensuring that local execution aligns with an overarching, coherent global message.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate the strategic goals of two key business units (Energy and M&C) into actionable marketing initiatives.
Identify shared themes across regions and business units to optimise marketing efficiency.
Shape the corporate communications calendar and brand strategy in collaboration with the global team.
Represent the Design & Communications team within the SBUs, championing its role and value.
Interpret regional market needs and ensure that communications are culturally appropriate and effective.
Support local implementation of the global marketing calendar across the UK and EU.
Lead and develop the UK-based Design & Communications team (3 direct reports).
Key Performance Indicators:
Ability to clearly understand and articulate business unit strategies.
Well-defined and regionally tailored communications plans.
Qualitative feedback from business stakeholders on campaign effectiveness.
Increased output and quality of thought leadership assets (e.g. white papers, case studies).
High levels of cohesion and collaboration within the communications team.
Alignment of UK/EU activity with the global messaging strategy.
Candidate Profile:
We’re looking for a commercially astute, hands-on marketing leader with 10–15 years’ experience in B2B marketing, ideally in the energy, utilities, or technology sectors. You’ll have a strong grasp of market dynamics in the UK and Europe, and be comfortable working across cultures within a matrixed, multinational organisation. Experience managing teams and influencing internal stakeholders at senior level is essential.
