Business Development Manager – Waste and Recycling Solutions

Location: London Area / Southeast | Contract Type: Permanent | Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities across the London area and Southeast region. You’ll introduce my client’s tailored recycling and waste management services to potential clients and ensure the company is invited to bid for strategically important contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-value clients, targeting large contracts worth £75K – £1M annually.
  • Present tailored solutions to clients, showcasing the benefits of my client’s recycling and waste management services.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring seamless implementation and client satisfaction.
  • Build the company’s profile within the market, strengthening their regional presence and overall market position.
  • Submit bid and tender responses, with a focus on both regional and national opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role, with a track record of winning and developing large contracts.
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to maximise profitability while maintaining high service standards.
  • Experience navigating blue-chip and FTSE 500 markets, with a focus on well-established UK brands.
  • Experience in the waste management or facilities management sectors is advantageous, but not essential. Full industry training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong sales experience and a proven ability to develop lasting relationships with corporate clients.
  • Ability to work flexibly, focusing on the Southeast region while also managing national bid opportunities.
