About the Role: 

  • Define and execute the sales strategy for Grid Automation products and solutions in the Southwest of the UK and for National Grid, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. 

  • Serve as the key account manager for National Grid, with budget responsibilities for this account. 

  • Achieve order intake targets in adherence to the company’s ethical code. 

  • Develop and nurture strategic customer relationships with key decision-makers to drive customer satisfaction and promote long-term partnerships. 

  • Identify new business opportunities to grow market share in your area of responsibility. 

  • Coordinate and lead tendering activities, ensuring that prices reflect market conditions and target-winning pricing strategies. 

  • Formulate proposal strategies and sales agreements, assisting in customer negotiations and identifying opportunities for new products and services. 

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports with action plans, mitigation strategies, and recovery plans. 

  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and conferences to stay current with industry trends and opportunities. 

  • Ensure compliance with all quality procedures and processes, addressing non-conformances in a timely manner. 

About the Candidate: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college. 

  • Proven experience in sales and/or tendering within the Grid Automation portfolio, with knowledge of protection and control, digital substations, and microgrid controllers. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to work effectively across different departments. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to analyse and resolve problems effectively. 

  • Ability to plan, market, and execute programs, demonstrating strong business acumen and leadership. 

  • Experience working within international and matrix organizations. 

  • Able to engage effectively with all levels of the organization. 

  • Willingness to travel within the UK.
