Having built a reputation for high-quality service and deep client relationships, they provide comprehensive financial planning, investment advice, and wealth management solutions, specialising in overseas Tax advisory, local EU presence and specialists. An upcoming retirement in the Birmingham region has created a unique opportunity for a driven Private Client Manager (PCM) to step into an existing, well-developed client base.

Role Overview
Title: Private Client Manager (PCM)
Locations: West Midlands (primarily Birmingham, Stafford, surrounding areas including the West M1 corridor, and parts of South Wales)
Reporting To: James Greene (UK Practice Manager) (Quarterly in-person meetings)

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 120x households, conducting annual reviews to ensure ongoing alignment with financial goals.

  • Financial Reviews & Top-Ups: Perform in-depth client reviews—covering pensions, investments, and insurance products—and recommend top-up opportunities to enhance portfolio performance.

  • Existing Client Reviews and Top Ups: Identify and cultivate relationships with current clients; full and detailed reviews, identifying “top ups”, leveraging cross and upselling capabilities 

  • Road-Based Client Engagement for Silver/Gold Clients: Travel to meet clients face-to-face, building trust and demonstrating value in a personal, consultative manner. Candidate needs to be ruthless with their time e.g visiting a lot of clients in a region 1x day, not visiting clients that don’t hit the criteria <£250k. Like someone efficient on Teams.

  • Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Maintain up-to-date KYC records and adhere to FCA guidelines, ensuring all documentation meets the highest standards.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate basic offshore/tax planning know-how, collaborating with in-house or external specialists for complex cases.

  • Career Progression: Opportunity to step into a full Financial Advisor role, taking on larger or more complex cases as you grow within the firm.

Ideal Background

  • Qualifications:

    • Level 4 (minimum) UK Financial Advisor certification (or equivalent).

    • Willingness to progress to Level 6 (company-funded, with repayment conditions if unsuccessful).

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience in an advisory capacity OR a longer track record in financial services.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently

  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Client-Focused: Aptitude for building long-term, consultative relationships.

    • Sales-Oriented & Proactive: Comfortable driving new business and seizing growth opportunities.

    • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of investments, pensions, and basic offshore or tax planning elements.

    • Organized & Methodical: Ability to manage multiple client reviews, follow-ups, and documentation efficiently.

Package & Benefits

  • Base Salary: £50,000–£55,000

  • Car Allowance: £2,000 (paid monthly)

  • Pension Match: Up to 4%

  • Healthcare: Option to join Bupa (individual coverage), plus a PLD/cash plan for hospital-related expenses

  • Bonus Structure:

    • Quarterly Bonus: Fixed element tied to initial fees (2–2.5% top-up value)

      • 10% on the first £25k of new business revenue

      • 15% up to £50k revenue

      • 20% up to £100k revenue

      • Targets scaling up to £5m AUM (significant earning potential)

    • Annual Discretionary Bonus: Circa £10k

      • KPIs: Includes 100% client reviews, referrals, top-ups, and a £10k threshold for additional incentives
