Role Overview

Title: Pensions Advisor
-
Location: London (St James’s Square hub) with hybrid working, transitioning to remote where appropriate.

Reporting To: Head of Wealth Structuring

Purpose: Deliver technically robust UK pensions advice and written reports for advisers serving clients in the UK and across Europe.
Key Responsibilities

Analyse client fact-finds, identify safeguarded benefits, and produce compliant advice reports (cash, switch, transfer, QROPS).

Liaise with front-line advisers to confirm objectives and ensure suitability of recommendations.

Keep knowledge current on UK pensions legislation, overseas transfer rules, and related tax considerations.

Record all work in Xplan and follow established processes with accuracy and timeliness.

Support internal training on UK pensions and cross-border planning topics.

Work closely with tax specialists to deliver integrated wealth-structuring solutions.
Ideal Background
Requirement Detail QualificationsMinimum Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent). Strong desire to progress to Level 6 / Chartered with study support. Experience5–10 years in a pensions-focused role (paraplanner, pensions adviser, or technical consultant). Experience in an open-advice environment preferred. Skills & AttributesDeep knowledge of UK pensions including safeguarded rights and transfers. Proficient with Xplan or similar systems. Methodical, IT-savvy, and comfortable following well-defined processes. Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
