National Sales Manager – Industrial Sector

Package: Basic Salary: £55,000-£60,000 (DOE) + Company Car + Bonus + Benefits

Job Purpose:

My client is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead and drive the growth of their Industrial sales division. This pivotal role involves full P&L responsibility, strategic planning, and leadership of both internal and external sales teams. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering a collaborative and goal-driven environment, aligned with the company’s mission and values.

The successful candidate will focus on enhancing the company’s unique market position and differentiation while ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth in the industrial sector.
    • Use internal and external market data to align activities with the strategic plan.
  2. Sales Growth:
    • Achieve and demonstrate profitable sales growth across industrial markets through effective leadership of the sales team.
  3. Business Planning:
    • Set measurable goals and targets for the team, monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
  4. Product Range Development:
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Technical teams to strategically enhance product ranges.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Coach and support internal and external sales teams, fostering a positive and collaborative market presence.
    • Drive improvements in technical competence and commercial awareness within the team to support business goals.
  6. Additional Activities:
    • Support broader business initiatives and contribute to cross-departmental collaboration as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Essential: Proven experience in the industrial lubricants sector.
  • Strong track record in B2B sales of premium products through well-defined sales channels.
  • Exceptional people management and motivational skills to drive team performance.

  • Highly collaborative, with a strong team-player mindset, but capable of working autonomously.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and sales software.
