An established investment management firm undergoing a major transformation programme is seeking a skilled Data Architect to help shape and implement its enterprise-wide data strategy. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking environment that values innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term impact in data-driven decision making.

Role Summary

Reporting into the Lead Architect, this is a pivotal role within the Transformation Team. You’ll be responsible for delivering and evolving the firm’s data architecture roadmap, aligning it to business goals and technology strategies. This is a hands-on role blending data strategy, integration, governance, and solution design—ideal for someone who thrives in both execution and strategic consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the firm’s data architecture roadmap across platforms and products.
  • Design and maintain enterprise-wide data models, frameworks, and standards.
  • Lead data integration projects across cloud-based and legacy systems.
  • Drive data governance, catalogue creation, and quality initiatives.
  • Support agile squads with architecture alignment and delivery objectives.
  • Guide the development of MI, analytics, and Power BI reporting.
  • Provide leadership on data tooling, security practices, and compliance alignment.
  • Collaborate with executive and business stakeholders to deliver strategic data value.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in data architecture across modern platforms (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Vault).
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Technologies (e.g. Synapse, ADF, ADLS, Databricks, Logic Apps).
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience building data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Azure DevOps, and data governance tools like Microsoft Purview.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant certifications: TOGAF, CDMP, Azure DP-203 or DP-300.
  • Experience with D365, data anonymisation, Python scripting, or Infrastructure as Code.
  • Previous background in wealth or investment management.
