Commercial Sales Manager – Midlands
Summary:
Our client is seeking a Commercial Sales Manager in the Midlands with a base salary of £45K, plus commission, bonus, and car allowance. This role focuses on growing volume from the commercial and industrial sectors.
About the Client:
Our client specializes in the recycling industry, particularly in paper and plastics, and aims to expand its market presence through innovative strategies and robust business partnerships.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Grow volume from commercial and industrial sectors, focusing on printers, box makers, and retailers.
- Support MRF growth within the local authority sector.
- Develop and implement a medium-term marketing strategy to enhance brand and market share.
- Identify and source potential commercial opportunities and long-term business partnerships.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of tenders, offers, and other contract submissions.
- Prioritize future business growth opportunities.
- Maintain and manage relationships with both existing and prospective suppliers.
- Manage price negotiations and service level agreements to improve profitability.
- Gather and analyze market intelligence.
- Keep the Board of Directors informed on market developments.
- Ensure new business meets agreed margin/profitability criteria.
- Adhere to company standards and values.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in the wastepaper industry with at least 5 years’ experience in waste management and recycling.
- Understanding of recovered paper and other recycling material qualities.
- General knowledge of the local authority sector.
- Experience in developing successful business growth strategies in a competitive commercial environment.
- Knowledge of UK and European waste and recycling legislation.
- Strong IT skills and a good standard of education at A-Level or above.
