About the Role

My client, a leading energy markets consultancy, specializes in procurement services and renewable energy projects, helping businesses navigate the complex and evolving energy landscape. With a focus on carbon reduction, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance, they support clients in achieving sustainable and commercially sound energy solutions.

They are currently recruiting a Commercial Energy Operations Analyst to join their Mid-Market Team, with a clear progression pathway towards a Consulting Manager role. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with large energy consumers spending £250k – £2M annually on electricity and gas, providing essential analytical and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between account managers, consultants, energy suppliers, and clients, ensuring seamless issue resolution.
  • Manage energy procurement tasks, including:
    • Data gathering and compliance modeling
    • Site additions and change of tenancies
    • Bill validation analysis and cost recovery
    • Budget forecasting and financial modeling
  • Support customer energy auctions and contract renewals, working closely with senior account managers.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to facilitate timely resolution of contract and operational issues.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvement in energy procurement and carbon reduction initiatives.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the energy or utilities sector (exceptional graduates from other industries will also be considered).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client requirements while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a passion for cost reduction and carbon footprint management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop TEAMS and telephone-based relationships.
  • Deadline-driven mindset, thriving in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.
